Quinn Direct insurance?

Iv just got ensured with Quinn direct in Ireland online! i gave my direct debit details and picked today as a start date, however i have to send them my deposit by cheque as i have no credit card!
Am i actually insured now or do i have to wait until the cheque is received! I have a policy ref number but there is no mention of a policy number!
please help cheers

As a general rule most insurance policies require the payment of the premium (or at least a deposit) in order to become effective. I would suggest your insurance will not be effective until they receive your payment. This points out the perils in purchasing insurance online hopefully they have a toll free number you can call to verify the above.
