Hispanic Online Dating

Do you think personal's profiles are indicators of how prejudice people really are?
I did an experiment with the online dating thing - when I put my true ethnicity (Middle Eastern), I get 0 responses - if I put Hispanic or White (with no picture - the SAME profile) - I actually get responses.
Sure - you can talk the talk - but when it comes to finding "love" you see who people really trust on the inside...
Also reading other people's profile - so many have preferences listed for race and religion... None of them incorporate "Middle Eastern" and very few have "No Preference."
Unfortunately people allow their ignorance to cause irrational and unwarranted fears. I live in the south and the racism is even more prevalent here. I do not understand why people are searching for someone solely on the basis of color, race and religion for if the particular color, race and religion they were looking for were so right then shouldn't they already have someone? Who's to say that our true loves only come from one race or religion. Why can't we just be interested in people? If they thought outside of their prejudiced boxes they may actually find someone.

Budding actors and drama coaches will enjoy this lighthearted story about the awkwardness and excitement of young love in a Mexican American community. Perhaps the word "enjoy" is an understatement ... I do believe that young actors will have a hard time not laughing along with the audience once the curtain goes up. Gary Soto, author and poet extraor... |

Accidental Love $1.49 It all starts when Marisa picks up the wrong cell phone. When she returns it to Rene, she feels curiously drawn to him. But Marisa and Rene aren't exactly a match made in heaven. For one thing, Marisa is a chola; she's a lot of girl, and she's not ashamed of it.
